Which branch is better mechanical or electronics and communication engineering?

Both the branches are very good. They have their own importance. If you go with ECE then you will get the job easily. But in my opinion Mechanical engineering is better than Electronics Engineering.

It all depends on your interest. If you have interest in machines, automobile, fluid mechanics and stuff, go for mechanical. If you have interest in electronics, communication engineering , mobile and Wireless Communication, how electronic devices work, go for Electronics and Communication.

Is Electronics and Communication Engineering harder than mechanical engineering?

It all depends upon your interest . If you are not interested in machines and their parts’ study , then you will find mechanical tough .. And if you do not have interesr in electronics signals ,, their study and use in communication, then you will find ECE hard.

What is difference between ECE and mechanical engineering?

Mechanical and ECE are totally different branches all together. Mechanical is more related to Civil and Chemical when we talk about the similar subjects faced in all three branches. You study Strength of materials, Environment engg, Structural Analysis in common with Civil while thermodynamics in common with chemical.

Can I do Mtech in ECE after Btech in mechanical?

Theoretically YES ! In India, PG admissions in Engineering Institutions are done on the basis of GATE scores, followed by written test/interview(in most of the IITs). But in NITs it is done only on the basis of GATE scores. If your GATE is in ECE then you are eligible for M Tech admissions in ECE.
