My clients ask me all the time if they can make clip in extensions out of weft hair. The answer is yes, but it was always a long tedious undertaking. Also, to get the wefted base the thickness needed for thicker hair you have to sew 2 pieces of wefted hair together and then sew the clips on.

Insert a 3-clip weft into your hair, just below the part. Find a weft that has 3 clips sewn into it. Snap open the comb-like clips on your weft. Position the weft right over the horizontal part and slide the combs into your hair, as close to the roots as possible, and snap them shut.

Separate a straight thin section of hair about two inches above the ear on the side, and clip the rest of the hair away. Take a 2 clip weft and secure the clip closest to your hairline first. Then secure the second clip closer to the back of your head. Repeat on the other side.
