Medical students drop out of medical school for any number of reasons. However, homesickness, financial concerns, and lack of adequate academic preparedness can contribute to someone dropping out of medical school. Other reasons include absenteeism, feelings of displacement, and overall depression.

Why did you decide to quit medicine?

Part of why I actually quit medicine is because a large chunk of my passion was destroyed by disillusion. Now I do not want to sound overly dramatic, because I partly knew what I was getting into when I started medical school; however, it is the trend that I foresee for the future that made me eventually choose to quit.
