Why are there Marines on Navy ships?

Marines are deployed on ships that are strategically placed in different areas of the world so they are close to potential conflict areas. This allows them to respond rapidly to problems that arise in an attempt to remove the threats and avoid full-scale war.
The Marine Corps is part of the Department of the Navy. At an administrative, political and civilian level, the Marines operate beneath the Secretary of the Navy. However, the highest ranking Marine Corps officer, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, does not answer to any other military officer.

Members of the U.S. Army and National Guard are soldiers. Members of the Air Force are airmen. Members of the Navy are sailors.
Enlisted Sailors are members of the Navy or Navy Reserve who serve in an occupational specialty that requires a high school diploma (or GED) as a minimum educational requirement. 1. Travel The biggest thing that attracted me to the Navy was not only the opportunity to travel but the way you get to travel. I personally love water and would enjoy to get to see all kinds of new cultures by soaring through the ocean on the world’s most powerful aircraft carriers.

For some the biggest reason to join any military is to serve and represent their country. America has had its problems and still does. Though that does not change the fact that I am proud to be a part of this unique society and hope to be a part of all of the great changes it will make in the future.
