Tumblr is essentially the hippie/hipster of the Internet. Reddit is a much more user-based site than Tumblr in that registered users dictate what’s on the main page, what comments appear in the comment section, and the different categories available to the site.

Tumblr allows its users to post photos, videos, and a lot of other media. It is a sort of complete blogging platform. Reddit also allows you to post photos, art, blogs and articles. However, Reddit is not a great social experience like Tumblr or Facebook.

Tumblr is a place where you follow people directly. Whatever that person has to say will show up on your dashboard, which makes it a good platform for making online friends. Reddit is based on a whole different ideology. This is unlike Tumblr, which feeds you content from the people you follow.

But once you take a closer look, it’s basically 4chan Lite. A nice midpoint between 4chan and Tumblr. Quora, the least ‘social media’ social media. Remember all that time you spent on Yahoo Answers?

Do you think Tumblr is still relevant?

No. Tumblr is not relevant anymore. When they banned “adult” content almost two years ago in an attempt to save their audience when Apple removed Tumblr from the Appstore due to fears of child pornography, they destroyed a big chunk of their audience. (Apparently Tumblr thought a lot of their users were on iPhones?)

Why is Tumblr so different from other social justice warriors?

1 – these social justice warriors don’t really do anything but hound and dox people on the internet because those people have different views. 2 – Tumblr does not have any of those pedophiles, neo nazis, racists, misogynists, transphobes and homphobes blogs.
