Is Autocad necessary for CATIA?
It all depends on how any software is frameworked for an better User Interface. AUTOCAD is mainly used for 2D & 3D drawing and CATIA is mainly used for 3D modeling. In cad we chould provide the dimensions at the time of drawing but in catia we can draw a rough model and later we can provide dimensions.
What is the difference between CAD/CAM and Ansys?
They both are most commonly used for CAD/CAM on student level and CAD/CAM/PLM on industrial level. They also provide for CAE but are not much famous for that. ANSYS on the other hand is an engineering simulation software commonly known as CAE software.
