Prayer is a way of being: being in the moment, being present, being open. It is a way of learning to be ourselves. Prayer is a way of relating: to God, to ourselves, to those around us. In opening our hearts and minds and souls to God we are challenged to grow, change, and to love.
What are the results of prayer?
Prayer gives you strength to avoid temptation Jesus counseled His disciples, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation” (Matthew 26:41). Through prayer, we can overcome temptations to sin. Pray for God’s help to keep you from making wrong choices. This will give you the strength to do what is right.

Prayer is necessary because through it we press into the will of God for our lives. Prayer brings us into a realization of what our true identity is as sons. At times, it takes time to discover the will of God for our lives. When we do, it takes perseverance in prayer to actualize His will.
