What are the coldest stars in the universe?

What are the coldest stars in the universe?

Y dwarfs are the coldest members of star-like bodies known as brown dwarfs, which are odd objects sometimes known as failed stars. So far, WISE has helped find 100 new brown dwarfs. To see how cool the coldest of these Y dwarfs was, the researchers used NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope to analyze its pattern of light.

Is there a star made of ice?

But in about a quarter of cases, some of the material remains in a massive belt surrounding the star. These debris disks are much like the asteroid or Kuiper belts found in our solar system, but far more massive. They are made up of either ice or rock depending on how close they lie to their star.

Does ice exist in space?

Ice in the Solar System: Ice! Ice is common in our solar system, from deposits at the poles of Mercury and the Moon to ice-covered moons and rings around distant Jupiter and Saturn, and comets made of ice and other materials streaming across the spaces between. And, of course, ice is present around our own world.

Why is there ice in space?
