Social democracy is a government system that has similar values to socialism, but within a capitalist framework. The ideology, named from democracy where people have a say in government actions, supports a competitive economy with money while also helping people whose jobs don’t pay a lot.

First off, Social Democracy, is not Socialism at all. It has little to do with the idea of Social Ownership. Social Democracy is a Capitalist system because it does not focus on needs but it continues the focus on profit motive. It does not completely do away with private industry, like Socialism, but makes some other industries public.
Others Say Democratic Socialism is what countries like Cuba, Venezuela, USSR, and North Korea. Some say Democratic Socialism is free healthcare, free education, and a living wage. Others say it is a giant prison state where the state takes away all your freedoms!
Social democracy, with its decision to stick with capitalism, stands as the sole governing method with a claim to socialism widely surviving. Yet, it is fair to say that social democracy survives by being parasitic on capitalism and state power.
