Is SharePoint 2019 the same as SharePoint Online?

In 2019, Microsoft introduced a modern web interface for Office 365 and SharePoint Online, which is also used for mobile devices. SharePoint 2019 (the on-premises version) also has the modern UI. Overall, there is no significant difference between the web interface of SharePoint Online and SharePoint on-premises.
Is SharePoint Online going away?
On October 2, 2017, when Microsoft deletes the public site collection in SharePoint Online, customers will no longer have access to the content, images, pages, or any other files that reside on their public website.

SharePoint Online is when Microsoft manages SharePoint in their data centers and you access it over the Internet. SharePoint On Premise is when your local IT gurus manage SharePoint in your company data center.

Will there be a new SharePoint Designer client for SharePoint 2019?
There will not be a new SharePoint Designer client shipped with this release. Microsoft will ensure that SharePoint Designer 2013 will work with SharePoint Server 2019 for the remainder of the client support lifecycle (2026).
