Pradeep’s Physics and Chemistry are good choices if you are preparing for JEE all yourself along with the 11th and 12th. I prepared for 11th and 12th with those books but still if you are willing to score a 60\% + in exam like JEE by self study try book like Cengage by G. Tewani .

Pradeep’s Chemistry book is actually a good book, but its quite thick because it has every minute detail of all the possible cases and everything is explained in great detail. It may be a pro fact for some students who are studying by themselves and their teacher is not understable in any way.

NCERT is sufficient for jee main point of view and for jee adv NCERT +BOOKS BASED ON NUMERICALS PROBLEMS are sufficient……. No, I would suggest to not go for Pradeep even for boards. For Boards NCERT is more than enough even for getting a perfect score.
