Is studying IIT difficult?

A semester in IIT runs over 4 months, but students don’t study throughout that time. Most students manage to secure a 7 CGPA and the cases of dropping a year, are very low.

What do you think about the quality of research at IIT Bombay?

While the quality of research by the professors is unquestionable, their teaching standards definitely need improvement. The fact that some professors have been successful in waking me up for an 8.30 AM class in the Bombay monsoons or a cold January winter is testimony of some wonderful professors we have.

Why are extra curricular activities for students on the backseat nowadays?

Unfortunately, extra curricular activities for students are increasingly relegated to the backseat nowadays, due to highly sedentary lifestyles. The phenomenon is dangerous since a sedentary lifestyle can have a severe and adverse impact on physical and mental health.

How has your extracurricular activities helped you in your daily life?

In earlier days, extra curricular activities were the only source of entertainment. Hi-tech gadgets such as fancy LED televisions, smart-phones, laptops and computers did not exist when I was a student. Every extracurricular activity I performed as a student is helping me till today, in my day-to-day life.

What are the advantages of co-curricular activities?

This type of co curricular activity is undoubtedly helpful in developing the essential life skills everyone should have in their life. Girl Scouts and Girl Guides is an excellent co-curricular activity offered by schools.
