In normal paper for pretty common uses, Staedtler fine tips and markers are better than Faber-Castell’s. But sepias and graphites from Faber Castell are better. Personally, I prefer Staedtler for the general use of what I do, like writing, Bullet Journaling, drawing, etc.

Faber-Castell to me is kind of buttery in a sense. It’s nice, smooth, great pigment! Wonderful for doing dramatic colors/effects. Staedtler seems more hard, more like an actual number 2 pencil lead. You push too hard you’ve got this thick line that’s still not much darker than when you don’t press hard, it’s not easily build-able.
