How many attempts are there for CSIR UGC NET?

There is no limitation on number of attempt for the CSIR UGC NET exam. You can appear for the exam as many time as you want. To apply for the CSIR NET exam, you have to fulfill eligibility criteria of the exam.

How many times CSIR NET conducted in a year?

CSIR-UGC NET is conducted twice a year in June and December. For further details visit (CSIR website: www.csirhrdg.res.in.) Candidates qualified in the above test are grouped into two separate merit lists viz. – JRF List and NET List.

Candidates willing to apply for CSIR UGC NET 2021 must possess M.Sc. or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B Tech/B. Pharma /MBBS with at least 55\% marks to be eligible to apply for the exam .

What is the procedure for PhD registration for CSIR Junior Research Fellowship?

CSIR Junior Research Fellows should register for PhD within a period of two year (Ph.D proforma Download from here) from the date of joining their fellowship, failing which the fellowship may be terminated. In exceptional circumstances, CSIR may consider giving extension for an additional period of one year.

How long is the UGC certificate valid for?

For Lectureship, it will be valid for a lifetime. Note – UGC has extended the deadline for NET and JRF qualified candidates to complete their Master’s program.

What is the stipend of a JRF selected through CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test?

(a) The stipend of a JRF selected through CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) will be Rs 31,000/ p.m for the first two years. In addition, annual contingent grant of Rs. 20,000/- per fellow will be provided to the University / Institution. The guidelines for utilization of contingent grant are given in ( Annexure- II)
