How do you transfer a picture to a wooden surface?

Instructions

  1. Print the image to fit the surface using a dry ink or laserjet toner printer.
  2. Paint the surface with acrylic paint (optional) – we used FolkArt Milk Paint.
  3. Place your image on a mat with the ink side up.
  4. The medium should be obscuring the image.
  5. Lay the picture image side down onto the surface.

Can you Mod Podge actual photos?

Can you use regular photos to transfer to wood?

You can use regular paper, but photo paper may work as well. The oil on photo paper is what stops it from transferring completely, so depending on what type of wood you are using, both are fine.

Can you transfer glossy photo to wood?

First, get your wood slice, laser printed photo, Ultra Seal, and craft brush. This is all you’ll need for the first step. Trim your photo to fit onto your wood slice. Remember that the photo will be placed face down if you are transferring it to the wood, so it will be flipped on the wood slice.

What’s the difference between Mod Podge and Mod Podge photo transfer?

A: It’s a completely different product. While there are photo transfers you can do with regular Mod Podge, the Mod Podge brand photo transfer medium is its own item and is a one step process. You don’t need glue to go along with it like you do for other photo transfers! It’s made for photo transferring only.

How do you make a picture transfer to wood?

Step 1: Paint the edges of your wood panel. Step 2: Apply a generous amount of the transfer solution to the image. You’ll need a thick layer. (Photo courtesy of Brown Eyed Girl Photography.) Step 3: Press the image, photo side down, onto the wood panel. Rub firmly to smooth out the image and remove air bubbles.

How to transfer prints to wood?

Dampen a cotton ball or paper towel with some of the Citrasolv.

  • Press it onto the back of your print that you have lying on the wood.
  • Rub it in gently with your finger (Citrasolv is all-natural)
  • Use your card or brayer to rub it onto the wood surface,then remove the print.
  • The Citrasolv will evaporate and leave you a lovely image transfer on your wood.
  • Use Citrasolv concentrate,not Citrasolv cleaner,or your art endeavors won’t work.
  • How to transfer a photo to wood?

    Choose a suitable piece of wood. Wooden boards work great for this project, as do wood disks with the bark still showing.

  • Paint the sides of your wood piece, if desired. Since you’ll only be transferring the photo to one side of your wood piece, you will have the raw edges
  • Choose your Mod Podge.
