As I said before, no, Mod Podge is not waterproof. Mod Podge is a craft supply made up of several ingredients, including vinyl acetate. The combination produces a product that is somewhat water resistant, but not waterproof. If a few drops of water end up on your Mod Podge project you can wipe them away with ease.

How do you clean old decoupage?

Just put a drop or two on the surface and wipe gently. Varnish will resist water and not make the surface sticky. If its varnish, just wipe the object with a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth. If the item is sticky then it was most likely done with a water soluble finish.

What removes Mod Podge?

Add a little liquid or dish soap and scrub with a brush to remove as much as possible. Option two involves petroleum jelly, also known as Vaseline. To use this method, scrape off any excess Mod Podge that you can. Work the Vaseline into the stain, and then remove that with dishwashing liquid.

They will seal your Decoupage well enough so that it can sit in the sun for some time and it can protect your Decoupage from drops of water or a little dirt but it will not make your Project water-resistant. To truly make your Decoupage water-resistant you will have to seal it with a special Sealer.

What is the best way to waterproof decoupage?

There are other Sealers out there, that can waterproof your Decoupage, like special water-resistant sealers for outdoor projects or liquid epoxy but the outdoor sealers are kind of expensive and epoxy is an awesome medium to use but it is kind of difficult to use as well.

Can You waterproof Decoupage with mod Podge?

Regular Decoupage glue or Mod Podge will seal your paper after applying it and it will make your paper a little water-resistant (so small drops or a little water won’t hurt it) but these sealers will not make your Decoupage waterproof. So if you want to make your Decoupage waterproof then you will need another sealer.
