Can social media replace social interaction?

Social media can help us communicate and enhance our lives, but using it as a substitute for face-to-face and physical interaction can do the opposite. It can also disconnect us from the real world by making us too busy caring about people we hardly know or about things which may not be true.
Social media isn’t destroying communication skills, it’s just changing them. Interaction via social media is still interaction between two or more conscious human beings, and nothing about it makes it inherently worse than other forms of communication.
Does media connect people or replace real interaction among people?
While these arguments can certainly hold to be true, the fact of the matter is that social media does not replace real world interaction and while it is of benefit to have connections with dozens of people at once, this tool often becomes a replacement for real world interaction.

Instead of picking up a newspaper or sales paper, people are more likely to use Google and other digital platforms to find the information that they need. Collectively, the platforms referred to as “Social Media” have replaced the more traditional means of communication and information consumption.
A decade ago the physical world and digital world were distinctly separate, but now the lines are becoming blurred. With the advancements of technology, the Internet is mobile and right at our fingertips. But even beyond the ubiquity of the Internet, social media is finding a place in real life.
The access that people have on the internet and social media specifically has become too easy. It has made the language lazy and thus resulting people uninterested in meeting others in person, which eliminates any chance of deep and meaningful conversation.

New media includes social networks: forms of software that allow people, groups and companies to connect and share information such as photographs and text. Companies such as Facebook, SnapChat and Instagram are all forms of social networks. There are also virtual communities.
Has social media improve human communication?
Social media is revolutionizing communication because it brings a new level of efficiency to influencing social change. The jump from traditional communication and marketing avenues to social media is uncomfortable for many businesses because social media interactions are much more public and fluid.
Study finds half of Americans get news on social media, but percentage has dropped. A new report from Pew Research finds that around a third of U.S. adults continue to get their news regularly from Facebook, though the exact percentage has slipped from 36\% in 2020 to 31\% in 2021.
