Those candidates who want to pursue career in Merchant Navy as soon as passing 10thStandard can join GP Rating course Or NCV Deck cadet Course. These courses help the candidates to pursue career in Merchant Navy and help in financial growth after 6 months of Pre-sea training.
Deck cadets must sail for a minimum period of 15 months after the completion of the course for the the deck officer cadetship. Thereafter a 3 months 2nd Mate Preparatory course must be undertaken at the deck cadets’ respective Institute.

As per Merchant Shipping rules, the applicant must be physically fit in every standard; eyesight must be minimum 6/6 with no color blindness. After the course is complete, the applicant will gain a certificate from the Institute, and further he can join as Deck/Engine crew any firm in Merchant Navy ships. 2-Deck Rating course:
According to the merchant navy rules, the applicant must be as fit. 5-NCV Course: The full form of NCV is Near Coastal Voyage. The duration of training is 6 months. The applicant who wish to join for this course after 10th they have to pass the SSC examination. From 17.5 to 25 years of age applicant is only allowed for this courses.
In this course, the applicant will get the training of catering course. The applicant will be able to take all the responsibility of catering department on the merchant navy ships by taking saloon rating course. The duration of pre-sea courses is 6 months. The applicant who had passed the SSC examination will be allowed for this course.
