Why are koalas so adorable?

They are not related to bears in the least. They look cute due to their doll like appearance and cute pot belly. They are up in the trees munching eucalyptus leaves all the time. So they generally stay out of the way and look super cute hugging the tree and clinging on to it as though their life depended on it.
