We float in space because there is very little gravitational force acting on them. Gravity is a force that is caused by the attraction of objects with mass. In space, you are very far from Earth’s center of gravity (other planets have gravity as well), so it doesn’t pull very hard, and we basically float around.

Why is there gravity on Earth but not in space?

Anything with mass creates gravity. The gravity generated by the Sun, Earth, the Moon, and other planets stretches throughout outer space. Buoyancy is a force that acts against the gravity. Since in space the value of g=0 hence buoyancy wont be there. And objects float because they want to reach the floor of the fluid containing vessel but are stopped by the buoyant force.
