Are UPSC interviews recorded?
The Interview or the Personality test of the Civil Services exam is conducted in Delhi at the UPSC office. So the interview marks are not disclosed immediately and can be known only at the declaration of the final results by the UPSC.
What happens if I fail in UPSC interview?
Any candidate has to clear all the three stages (Prelims, Mains, Interview) to get into the final Merit list. The marks obtained in the Mains and Interview are added and there is a fixed cut-off. If the total marks do not cross the cut-off marks, then the candidate is considered failed in UPSC Interview.
Does UPSC interview marks matter?
A UPSC Civil Services interview lasts for about 30 minutes. The interview carries 275 marks out of the total 2025. The candidate’s score in the Mains examination does not play any role in deciding the course of the interview, though the marks of both Mains and Personality Test are considered for ranking.
