How does a Crdi pump work?

How does a Crdi pump work?

Working principle: The pump compresses the fuel at the pressures of about 1,000 bar or 15,000 psi. It then supplies the pressurized fuel via a high-pressure pipe to the inlet of the fuel rail. The fuel-rail distributes the fuel to individual injectors which then inject it into the combustion chamber.

What is CRDI system in diesel engine?

The term CRDi stands for Common Rail Direct Injection. The technology directly injects fuel into the cylinders of a diesel engine through a single, common line, known as the common rail. The common rail is connected to all the fuel injectors.

How much pressure develop the CRDI diesel engine pump?

It develops pressure up to 6 bar and supplies to the high-pressure fuel pump (CRDI) through fuel filter and water separator. The high-pressure fuel pump develops pressure from 200 to 2000 bar and supplies to the common rail and common rail fuel injectors inject fuel into the combustion chamber.

How many types of CRDI are there?

There are two different types of injection systems in the diesel engines or compression ignition (C I Engines). One is the Air Injection System and another one is Airless or Solid Injection System.

How many types of CRDi are there?

Who makes CRDI engines?

TDI is quintessential German technology uses in German diesel cars such as Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda whereas CRDi is used in India by Hyundai and the new entrant KIA. Some popular examples of diesel engines using this configuration are: TDCI/Duratorq by Ford. DDIS by Maruti Suzuki.

Who invented CRDI engine?

The common rail system prototype was developed in the late 1960s by Robert Huber of Switzerland and the technology further developed by Dr. Marco Ganser at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, later of Ganser-Hydromag AG (est.1995) in Oberägeri.

Which is best CRDI or TDI?

CRDi diesel engine produces significantly less smoke and tolerable emissions. Better Fuel Mileage: Utilising a common rail for fuel delivery, CRDi engine are not gas guzzlers anymore. CRDi engines are quieter. Increased Power: CRDi engines are powerful, very powerful.
