What should I learn CATIA or SolidWorks?

SolidWorks is more user friendly and easier to learn as it is used for educational purposes, it is a great starting place for engineers to learn CAD Software.

Is Autocad necessary for CATIA?

It all depends on how any software is frameworked for an better User Interface. AUTOCAD is mainly used for 2D & 3D drawing and CATIA is mainly used for 3D modeling. In cad we chould provide the dimensions at the time of drawing but in catia we can draw a rough model and later we can provide dimensions.
